In early spring 2005, Pastors Chris and Lori Lockemy set out to build a spiritual community of authentic believers that could present the un-aging gospel message to a society that believes it has long been outdated. With a large age gap in most churches today, Epic set out to close that gap by focusing on 20s and 30s. Obviously not turning away those under or over that age, the church began to grow. Looking for room for future growth, the church moved from a living room to the Courtyard Marriot in Fells Point, Baltimore MD on September 25th 2005.
Since that date Epic has continued to reach the target through energetic worship, relevant teaching and a relational atmosphere. While making a spiritual community that feels like family Epic uses movie clips, modern commercials and even current politics to translate its message effectively. Seeing successful numbers of people who previously had no interest in church, or Jesus decide to accept a relationship with Christ, Epic continues to stick to its guns.
As of March 4th 2007, Epic is calling the DU’ Burns arena their home to hold their gatherings. With room to hold about 150-200 seats Epic is looking forward to reaching the Canton/ Fells Point communities with the best message ever built on a foundation of relationship.
