First off, at Epic we like to have fun. The atmoshpere, when you walk in, is built around a 'Come as you are' mindset. There are no perfect people in here. And so this makes it fun knowing that there is no having to pretend like there are no problems. We are only human. We are all flawwed people doing our best to get to know a perfect God... sounds like the ingredients for an interesting mix. So no stress if your coming to check us out for the first time, there are NO EXPECTATIONS.
As a Community of Faith we try to keep all our actions and activities purposeful. It is all too easy to become busy with religious activities and forget God in the process. We want to learn how to love God, others and ourselves the way He intended. Below you will see our Purpose and Values that are used to keep us on track, in an attempt to avoid the 'tyranny of the urgent'.
Purpose - Re-introducing Baltimore to a growing relationship with Jesus through Gathering, Community, Service and Missions.
Core Values: Pillars that uphold that vision-
Gathering (Loving God) - Our weekly gatherings is where we come together to worship, learn and encourage one another. Coming from the Greek word ‘Ekklesia’, translating into what we know as the first century church, a gathering of people together. (Matthew 22:38 + Acts 1:8-Jerusalem)
Community (Loving others) - We strongly encourage people to take a step to a deeper level after Gathering together, to get plugged into a Community Group. These groups meet at a variety of times and places but are a vital to the DNA of who we are. (Matthew 22:39 + Acts 1:8 Judea)
Service (Serving our City) –After getting plugged into a Community Group we pray that you are inspired to go and serve in some capacity both in the church and outside the 4 walls of our building. There are a number of service projects going on throughout the month. Find one and help out. (Acts 1:8 Samaria)
Missions (Helping Social injustice) – Taking service to another level we reach out as much as possible to help cure social injustice in our world. Through helping taking trips, sending supplies or sponsoring children we are taking our ample resources and distributing them to those who don’t have what is needed. (Acts1:8 the World)
